About the artist
Sylvain Leurent was born in 1981. He graduated from ENS Louis Lumière in 2010. Since then he has worked in the style of a photographer/author, combining commissioned works and personal research. He constructs pictorial cinematography in which his subjects become characters in a dreamlike narrative. In meticulously constructed scenes, his images bordering on reality and strangeness play on a disconcerting duality between solemnity and recklessness. He was awarded the ‘Coup de cœur’ prize at Eurazeo 2014 with his series Traits d’Union.
