Dolores Medel was born in 1982 in Mexico. She graduated in Communications from the Center for Image in 2011. She has studied and worked in graphic design, cultural management and journalism. Many of her works have been published nationally and internationally. She is interested in the history and culture that has shaped Latin Americans. She currently works as a freelance photographer and teaches at the University of Veracruz. She was attracted to Veracruz as it is where she comes from. Los Tuxtlas in Veracruz is a mystical area, surrounded by the smell of tobacco and sorcerers’ smoke. It is where her family’s contradictory, dysfunctional and atypical story belongs. She reflects on concealed, yet ever-present human roots. We remain wild, fighting for our survival.
