Born in the suburbs of Paris on 24th December 1972, Frédérick Carnet discovered photography at the start of the 1990s and soon decided to become professional. He spent 6 years working with Toros Aladjajian in his Parisian photo lab devoted to black and white photography. During this period, following an artist residency for the town of Cergy, Frédérick Carnet received an honorable mention at the Prix Kodak de la Critique Photographique (1998), a grant from the FRAC Ile-de-France (1999) and was a finalist in the Prix HSBC (1999). In 2002 he began working as an advertising photographer. At the start of 2011 he begin to gradually move away from commercial photography. Since 2015 he has been fully devoted to his creative work. He has lived and worked in Germany since 2016.
